the Africa cup of nations is also said to have contributed to this decision. His sacking was announced by Sam Nyamweya chairman of FKF (Football Kenya Federation) on Tuesday June 19th . This was the second time that he had been fired from the team.  All is not lost however for the former coach as he was also promoted to take up a new role as the FKF technical director.  He will be taking over from Patrick Naggi who was demoted to the post of Executive Officer.
